Business Luncheon with Dr. Simon Heffer, Columnist for the Daily and Sunday Telegraphs

“Britain after the Election”

Since Simon Heffer was last in Geneva in March 2015 (a few weeks before the then General Election) just look at how much things have changed! And now the U.K. faces another General Election on the 8th June.

The political map of the United Kingdom, not to mention what has happened – and still continues – across the European Union, has changed dramatically.

He remembers well that some of our members present on the occasion of his last visit thought him mad to think that the United Kingdom might elect a government that might call a referendum on the EU; and even madder that we might then vote to leave!

Anyway, the U.K. did. In fact, it did both!

Our Guest of Honour will tell us in his own inimitable way if he is optimistic or pessimistic about the future. And by the time he arrives in Geneva, Britain will have a new Government.
